Winter 2025 has a potential to be great and save what Fall 2024 ruined. I
have high hopes for a lot of shows, and I am hoping it will work out for
me.These are the shows that I am going to watch:
I am still not done experimenting it seems, so this season will be
different once again. First Look, In a Nutshell, and Conclusions + Awards
is what I am aiming for this season. Let's see how that works out...
But for now, let's break down my plan for Winter 2025 and what I'm hoping
is going to happen this time.
All in all, I am hoping to watch 13 shows during their releasing, so week
to week follow. 11 of those are new series, 2 of those are sequels.
Besides that, I have 3 more sequels planned - Senpai wa Otokonoko:
Ame Nochi Hare, which is a theatrical follow-up and Kankin Kuiki
Level X (Zoku-hen), sequel to a show I finished during Fall 2024,
and SK∞ Extra Part (in other words a bonus episode). I am also
watching the new season of Yami Shibai.
Last, but not least, I plan to watch a weird BL special called Neko
ni Naritai Tamagawa-kun. (How can I not be curious, it looks wacky.)
This post, as per usual, is devoted to first episodes of each of the
shows that I hope to finish in Winter 2025, so let's get to it!
But this season, I am looking at every interesting first episode - so
that I can decide what is actually good, what only sounds good and what to
focus on. After all, first impressions are everything!
Each episode will get a rating, that will hopefully help me decide what
to watch and what to skip. Those ratings are "💖" (keep watching), "👍" (not bad, but there are better), "👎" (this might get dropped).

Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon 2nd Season
(My Happy Marriage Season 2)
After stellar first season, I was very hyped for Season 2. Even though I
had some complains about the supernatural aspect of this series, and the
story changed so so much towards the end of the first season, I have
high hopes and I am expecting a lot.
Animation dropped, the visual quality dropped. I have to say that,
because I noticed it. However - the story is moving softly, swiftly and
I am very hyped for my two babies to be back again.
Seeing them go through their own feelings, while battling the world and
their families was a key point for me in 1st season, so I am excited not
for only new problems but also the ways they will solve them.
I can sense conspiracies, and dangers. Miyo has to work through her
new-found supernatural abilities, Kudo has to fight his parents (his
mother is such a bitch, I am so excited for how she will fall on her
face), and the prince Takaihito has something planned as well... If
you watched and loved the first series, this will definitely be worth
everyone's time.

Sorairo Utility (TV)
A great example of short one episode that made it into a whole
series. 15 minutes of three girlfriends playing golf got a whole 12
episodes series - and I am all here for it. I loved the short
introduction to this, and I am ready for more.
And it was wonderful to get the start of their friendship. I got a
proper introduction to who our main character is, how she met Haruka
and who really Ayaka is.
Their characters are so much more interesting with a little background.
Their characters are so much more interesting with a little background.
I thought they were just friends or classmates... I thought that
Haruka is just casual about it... I thought Ayaka is just there...
But I finally understand them! Haruka is so incredibly passionate
about golf, and Ayaka seems to be really popular in the world of
that sport.
The only person that was portrayed really clearly was Minami, our main character, who is incredibly goofy. She is your usual sport protagonist, who found that one thing she wants to be good at, at all cost. She is the character who is shitty at the sport, but finds the most joy and love in it.

Needless to say, this is an amazing combination of Cute Girls Doing

Tasokare Hotel
(The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be
Archenemies)
Series that remind me of Death Parade must be good,
right?
The show stars out with a young girl that bleeds on a road,
finding herself at a strange place, the twilight hotel where
sun doesn't set or rise.
Unsure of the fact if she is dead or alive, she stays in a
hotel room, in which objects serve as clues to help her
recover her memory and destination - which means that she will
find out if she is still alive or if she died.
I absolutely love the fact that they gave the main girl a face
*after* she remembered her name... but not what happened. So
our main character - Neko - stays in the hotel.
There, she helps a certain woman who is in a similar situation
to regain her memories, find out who is and what happened to
her.
Once she remembers, her face comes back. And that was a cute
detail.
Hoshina's face looked like a tarot card - The Lovers. And as
they were falling down to reveal her face, the last card to
fall was The Fool. How fun!
And thus, her story is told and she gets to go back and live
her own life for herself, not the v-tuber who she devoted her
life to. End of the first episode left me happy, but doubtful.
I can see how this anime could become boring... but I will
stay positive and say I am going to look forward to new
episodes.

Ameku Takao no Suiri Karte
(Ameku M.D.: Doctor Detective)
It's my own fault that I am so weak for "bizarre mysteries",
"unexplained illnesses" and "strange murders" - and all of
that is promised to be a part of this series.
And after the first two episodes that aired I can say that I
have once again fell for a cute, intelligent female
detective that solves stupid and boring mysteries in a way
that we could have never guessed every detail, while
dragging each story through multiple episodes.
My own fault. I am weak for women I guess?
Anyway. The story starts with a simple man, doctor Yuu
Takanashi, who is (un)lucky enough to be the chosen person
of the Sherlock of this series, the short doctor Takao
Ameku. Her brilliance is shown right away as she diagnoses
properly two patients who no one else could diagnose, and
just when we realise what kind of person Takao is, we have
the first case.
A strange man, with his leg bitten off, bleeding blue
blood... You might think... how strange! How bizarre and how
unsolvable! Well, Takao doesn't agree and solves the case in
first episode, explaining it properly in the second episode,
that came out at the same time.
That told me all I could ask for - the series will not be
bad, but it won't be interesting enough to keep me satisfied
about the cases that will be presented. That's just how it
is. I am hard to please when it comes to my favorite tropes.

Zenshuu.
I remember the speculations about this anime, where
people were guessing this show will be about how MAPPA
treats it's employees and how everything is bad, awful,
terrible... But apparently, it's not really the truth.
Apparently this is a hidden first love story?
WRONG! Turns out the synopsis hid the whole truth from
us, and presented us with only the first half of the
problem. Natsuko Hirose does have a problem with
coming up with a storyboard for the upcoming movie...
but as it turns out, she chokes??? on her lunch??? and
is isekai-ed into a cartoon she saw as a child??? I mean
what is this fuckery?
A lot of people are defending the show being a hidden
isekai, and while I do not exactly mind it, I am let
down and I am disappointed. Had I known this is
this kind of isekai, I would not watch it. This
just isn't the universe and the story I sighed up
for.
I wanted the promised rom-com!
But instead we have a show that references all your old
cartoons (like Sailor Moon and Kaze no Tani no
Nausicaä), it gives you the most basic kind of
(predicted!) love story: the enemies to lovers trope of
a gray-mouse girl and handsome, blonde hero-man.
Booooring.
I am going to give this 3 more episodes, because I want
to know if this is really what I sighed up to,
unknowingly, or if we will get back to the promised
story.
But it doesn't look good for me, so far...

Mahoutsukai no Yakusoku
(Promise of Wizard)
Now, I ignored this one bravely for a while. The
promise of pretty boys and a heroine does not
sound appealing to me since I was 16. (AMNESIA,
DIABOLIC LOVERS... dark past...) But I decided to
give a shot to anything I find even slightly
interesting.
The story stars with a heroine feeding old woman's
cats, taking a picture of a moon and smiling,
because the night was supposed to be magical. How
cute.
Until she gets into her apartment building and the
usual elevator is replaced by a weird one, that
takes her to a magical world.
Murr, a strange person, explains what is happening
(but really badly). It's not until Akira meets a
strange fellow, who tells her that she is a Sage,
the key person to get Wizards to do what she says.
Not too long after, actual wizards appear and tell
the Sage not to listen to the old guy because he
is lying.
Akira, obviously, believes the wizards and sets
off with bunch of pretty boys... while the old guy
receives a new command: kidnap the Sage at all
cost.
It really isn't my cup of tea... so I would like
if someone explained to me why I am absolutely
crazy about the first episode and am really
digging it. I cannot wait to see where this goes
and what the magical world has to offer. I will
definitely be watching.

(Even Given the Worthless “Appraiser”
Class, I’m Actually the Strongest)
I did not expect to like this, but I
gave this show two tries and was
pleasantly surprised. I might actually
get into fantasy at this rate.
Ein, the main character of this show,
finds himself on the brink of death 5
times in first episode, but he is
lucky enough to do it around a World
Tree, whose spirit saves him times and
times again. Poor Ein has an unhappy
life - being only an appraiser, who is
looked down to, he is left behind by
his party to be eaten by Hell Hounds.
After getting another chance at life,
he is IMMEDIATELY killed by two S-rank
monsters, but thankfully the spirit of
the World Tree has taken a liking in
him, and saves him
again. Now Ein has two
differently colored eyes, and a
beautiful elf girl in front of him -
and they will definitely change his
life.

SAKAMOTO DAYS
Ah, yes. "Popular manga turned into even more
popular series." My biggest enemy. 😂
And I admit, I was let down quite a bit. I expected
a lot - because it sounded so interesting, but it
didn't go as I hoped it would.
So we have the ultimate assassin Sakamoto - who
found the joys of domestic life and while staying
sharp he is still number one. However, because he
left his job unannounced, his previous boss wants
him dead, and he is sending Sakamoto's ex colleague.
That is a young looking man, who can read minds.
AH! First x from me. Why do we keep pushing
supernatural elements everywhere? Why can't we just
have something regular? At least once... TwT
But anyway, the first episode ends with a cool
shooting and Shin getting a job with Sakamoto at the
convenience store, getting used to his new life.
That is not all though, because we got 2 in 1
episode release.
The second episode got me immediately, when we saw
Sakamoto became an absolute softie for his wife,
whom he loves dearly. He is so scared of her! It's
amazing, I love it.
We also got new character introduction - Lu, a
member of some kind of Chinese mafia. Again, my own
fault for assuming she would be just a comedic
relief, or some kind of foodie. No, no. She has
important connections and even more important key.
How. Fun.
Now I am going to keep watching, because I was
excited about this one... but god help me.

Synopsis lied to me a little again, because it
said that she is going to fight it without
anyone finding out - but someone found out right
away, the very first episode. Alina managed to
tell them off, and she showed us her bad ass
side - so for now, her secret seems to be safe.
I love the cutesy-style, but don't appreciate
that it's only women who are under it. I wish
they kept it for all characters... Anyway, the
