Spring 2024 Conclusion + Awards

I did some watching during Spring 2024, but the season is over now and we should give a proper goodbye.

In Spring 2024 I watched these shows:

We are saying goodbye to...
All of the shows I picked out this season ended, so we won't be taking any of them to Summer with us. Dungeon Meshi finished this season as well, so that's the last we've seen of it for some time.

Overall feeling
What I loved about this season, what I hated. How many shows I watched, how many I didn't give chance to, have many I plan but wasn't interested in. Special cases - anime I want to watch, but couldn't yet (e.g. movies.)
Spring 2024 was a huge disappointment for me. I dropped 4 anime which is 4 more than last season, or the seasons before. Of the 15 I finished, I disliked 5, liked 4, enjoyed 4 and absolutely loved only 2.
This might be the weakest season so far, from those I was actively watching.

19 shows I watched, 14 I want to watch sometimes in the future. Here is a little peak into what I plan to watch next:

The reasons vary: movies didn't come out yet, some anime I added to my list too late, some I simply forgot about. When I do watch them, I will update you through Anime Wrap-Up as usual!

I took a lot of screenshots, got a lot of opinions on AniList, Discord and of course, I have a lot of my own opinions. Let's rank the anime I watched!

Screenshot hall of fame

Let's look at the best/worst screenshots from every anime I finished during Spring 2024.

One Room, Hi Atari Futsuu, Tenshi Tsuki.
This is still very much me.

Shuumatsu Train Doko e Iku?
There was a lot of jokes I could go with for the best screenshot, but this one had me crying-laughing.

Hananoi-kun to Koi no Yamai
I had almost nothing to pick from, but this moment was pretty adorable.

WIND BREAKER
I remember this moment and the way this line shook me. It was awful, and it told us so much about Chouji... which in the end bit me in the ass, because why the hell would they make him this awful of a person, just to do a 180 turn and make it look like he is just "misunderstood child that needs handling".
Bad writing, I tell you.

Girls Band Cry
There was a lot of moments that made me go "ahhh...". This was one of them. Rupa lost her parents in an accident and she was explaining to Nina so gently how important it is to be with your family while you have the time for it...
Very sad, very touching.

Yoru no Kurage wa Oyogenai
Again, I could pick from many many pictures... But this one was just so silly, I enjoyed it a lot. While there were scenes that were moving, sad, funny, inspiring... I just wanted to remind you all that they are silly kids that get confused sometimes, and that's what makes them relatable.

Sentai Daishikkaku
A little cute and soft moments from our very own Fighter D. When you take into account all he went through... Him hallucinating that they will stay friends even after all that time and that they will get along was... important to me.
I am very pleased with D's character growth.

Blue Archive The Animation
-

Besides the few screenshots of girl's, there is nothing I can use. And the screenshots I did take were not memorable, so I am not going to use anything.

Tadaima, Okaeri
I am well aware he didn't know what he was saying, when he was handing Matsuo the candy (that he was supposed to give to someone he loved), but it's still a very soft moment that would shape their relationship in the long run.
Silly babies in love!

Unnamed Memory
1) exactly how I felt when I was watching it, 2) a great way to introduce Oscar (who in the end turned out to be different from what we thought he would be), 3) good comedy.

Boukyaku Battery (TV)
My most favorite joke of them all. I am not even kidding, this was so freaking funny I almost fell from my chair.

Seiyuu Radio no Uraomote
The ONLY screenshot I took. And a very real description of what this anime was.

Kaii to Otome to Kamikakushi
She was so savage... I took this screenshot back when I enjoyed it.

Kuroshitsuji: Kishuku Gakkou-hen

I could pick from tens of screenshots, but I think we all get to enjoy those during my posts. This one is very silly and funny, and pretty clever to be honest.

Dungeon Meshi
My PC wallpaper.

ANIME RANKED
Let's take a look at my official score for each anime I finished in Spring 2024.

Both Seiyuu Radio no Uraomote and Unnamed Memory don't even deserve to be on this chart, with score of 1/10.

The second ranking is naming a "winner" and "looser" of the season.
  1. "Crowned" is an anime that ranked the best overall during this season.
  2. "Clown hat" is an anime that I had high hopes for, but disappointed me the most.
  3. "Heart" is an anime I didn't expect to like.
  4. "Broken heart" is an anime that I liked, but wanted to be better.

Honorable mention:

Kuroshitsuji: Kishuku Gakkou-hen

Making a comeback after 7 long year, being a sequel to one of the first animes I've ever seen... Kuroshitsuji is a multi-series show that keeps surprising me. Set in the Victorian era, full of surprises and mindfucks, it continues to uphold a standard for good anime in my eyes.

I think you should check out this anime:

Tadaima, Okaeri

This is the anime that made history, by being the first omegaverse anime there is. It's not perfect, because yaoi never gets enough money, so they have to cut down here and there on their budget... but it's a wonderful thing to watch something that is truly new.
