Addressing Michael Sheen's acting in the 2nd episode of BBC's Ancient Rome: The Rise and Fall of an Empire (2006)

I swear I am not thinking about Michael Sheen's Nero.

I swear I am not melting. ...okay I am.

But!! His acting skills were just amazing. His expressions so pure. The feelings so true.

He truly nailed 'going crazy and being insane'. He was so convincing. Scarily good. Scarily in character.

I started falling in love with a man who brought Rome down, who I was taught in school was crazy and did most of things wrong. Man who, as he believed, was God. Man who started from zero and wanted beauty to be what people think of when they hear or say 'Rome'.

I cried with him. I cried because suddenly I was not watching Nero, the crazy Roman emperor. I cried because I was a part of Nero's world. Because I was looking at a man who was unable to remain sane after all he had done, all that was done to him. I was seriously feeling bad for this poor boy that just wanted something beautiful, that wanted to be remembered as a great emperor.

And when it was over, I realized that I don't know who Nero was and which is the truth. If he was just man of a poor mind or a beast as I was taught. If he had dreams too big to be achieved or if he was playing with fire and got burn.

And why did I felt this way? Because of Michael Sheen and his amazing acting skills. Because of the great staff that was participating and directing this show.

I mean I am exaggerating, but that is work of all those drama classes and school. But you surely know what I mean. Sometimes the show and feelings and the atmosphere just... hit the soft spot in you.

And Michael Sheen's Nero definitely hit mine.
